Getting Started Sending Texts: My first time as a texter in TextOut

Great! You've joined TextOut and you're here to send texts!

Sending Texts

Once you login to TextOut

  1. On the left hand side of the screen you will see all "Active Programs" you have been added to as a texter.
  2. Next to the programs listed you will see "Initials Pool" and "Replies Pool", they will be listed as "Open" or "Closed" and show you the number of remaining texts.
  3. Click the program name where you want to start texting or if you were sent a direct link to a program— use that!
  4. The next page will give you an overview
  5. Click the "Start Texting" blue button half way down the page
  6. Click the "Request Initial Texts" or "Request Replies
    1. IF your texter level Requires Approval:
      1. If the program you are texting in requires approval for you texting level, you will have a delay in between requesting texts and being able to send texts. You will see that your Text Request is being reviewed.

        Some Workspaces will review texts and give feedback before assigning the next batch of messages. If this “moderation” is enabled, a message will pop up after requesting additional conversations.

        Until the text request is approved, the “Request Texts” button will say “Requested,” indicating that a Moderator is reviewing texts. Once approved, a notification will notify the User that Conversations are ready to send.

  7. Once you have your texts they will fill the texting inbox below on the left under "Ready
  8. Sections in your texting inbox
    1. Ready:
      1. These are texts ready for a reply, you can click on them and the conversation will show in the middle box
    2. Flagged
      1. These are conversations that have been marked as flagged so you can come back to them
    3. Complete
      1. These are conversation that are complete. Once the conversation has been replied to by the person sent the text, it will move to the ready section.
  9. Once you have a conversation open and it appears in the middle section you can select a response from the recommended replies on the right side of the screen or at the bottom of the screen you can type in a reply
  10. Replies
    1. The "Script Type" dropdown lets you filter replies based on script type
    2. The "Search" box allows you to search replies
    3. One the script the bubble below the message is the data tag that will be attached when you click send
    4. The "pin" icon next to the script allows you to keep a script pinned for quick use at the top of the recommended replies
  11. Surveys
    1. If your program is collecting additional information you will be able to select and enter additional data here
